Re: Line Stats - Good SNR/Noise Margin/Line Attenuation values

Noise Margin:

My Noise Margin is normally remains around 20 but again and again it decreases to 2/3 and sometimes even goes in negative due to which net disconnect often. I have complained to PTCL, they fix the problem temporarily but after few days same thing starts again. I asked them for Fibre Optic but they said its not available in your area. So tell me what should I do to keep it stable.

Keep complaining until they give up. Call 1218 after 12 at night. This way you'll get complaint No.1 and your line will be the first one they check in the morning. I did the same and after about 2 weeks of continues complaining they fixed my line permanently, I don't know how but now I'm getting an SNR margin of over 15 for the past two weeks.

Have you faced the problem of Noise Margin Drop even once after your line was fixed?

Come on everyone knows it's a luck game your PTCL works like charm then your Dsl Rockxxx and vice versa
he might have a fiber optic cable or a great connection to the dp

Ds Rate (Kbps)   1024
US Margin   23
DS Margin   14
Trained Modulation   ADSL_G.dmt

DS Line Attenuation   37
US Line Attenuation   17
Peak Cell Rate   603 cells per sec
CRC Rx Fast   0
CRC Tx Fast   0
CRC Rx Interleaved   0
CRC Tx Interleaved   1

one more thing if the receiver is on the phone cradle, my connection doesn't work, it synchroznize all the time and no connection, when i remove the receiver from the phone cradle then it connects immediately. why this happens???

Sorry bhai I didn't see your post before. No I never faced the SNR problem ever since they fixed it.

Re: Line Stats - Good SNR/Noise Margin/Line Attenuation values

* I would like to tell u all to keep in mind, the (SNR =35 max, 20 good, 10 dangerous, less than 10 surely disconnect after some time)
(att  = 20 nice, 30 ok, 50 dangerous--disconnect)

* There is a inverse relationship b/w SNR & attenuation. SNR can be increased or att can be decreased by working on ...... PR pair, SEC pair & DW..but never the PORT on DSLAM.

* DSL light keep blinking or it goes off after some time.....typically PR or SEC pair problem. PR is primary pair from exchange to cabinet and SEC is the secondary pair from cabinet to DP/pole. The solution is to first change PR and then SEC with good one...aaa...definitely it will be done by Lineman...belive me..dont do anything..no 1218, no exchange, no complaint reg, no PTA..just go to the cabinet near you..now u shud know where ur cabinet is....meet line man and just show him the biggest reality of this world..what !!..yes money..i suggest 200 or max 300...i swear ur problem will disappear as it was never there...dont tell anyone... smile
