Best ptcl DNS Server ?

Guys Whats The Best PTCL DNS server ? I my self use only Open DNS but i wanna know what is the best working PTCL's Own dns server ? i think they have few dns servers... but i dont know what works best...

there are many DNS servers that i know. here is the list, but most of these are dead for me :P except the one 202.125.132.9

These Are Not PTCL DNS Server These Are Open DNS & Google DNS Servers :) But I Will Try The PTCL DNS :) Thx Kiren

And My NetGear Router Auto Detect DNS So Thats What I Am Getting...

Gateway IP Address 203.99.169.12

Domain Name Server 182.176.31.188 --- 202.125.132.12

i need this WAN info from others and strikeX also, who are getting good tracert and pings

DNS server have nothing to do with pings... it just get Ip for domain name.

For example:

when someone ping infadat.com. DNS server gets ip only once then pc send pings to that ip address

DNS, in SOME cases, can help with the pings - because they tend to serve the IPs which are "closest" to your region.

For e.g., a UK DNS would serve European IPs for Google requests (for lower pings) and a US DNS service would serve American IPs instead.

It's similar to what Akamai and other CDNs do.

BUT - there's a good 98% chance you won't benefit from it: only a few websites support location-based requests. Google's one of them. Microsoft's another. Yahoo's another. And these are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Oh - as far as DNS addresses are concerned, they, themselves, are multi-homed (well - Google, OpenDNS and a few others are) but the time it takes to access these servers is greater than the time it would take for you to contact a Pakistani DNS server and get an IP response.

In short:

Google DNS:

you <-----------------------------> Google <-----------> response/IP

Local DNS:

you <-----> Local DNS <--------------------> response/IP.

The <----> is the time-delay involved. Even though the second one has a greater time delay for serving up IP addresses, it still is faster overall.

Note: the above illustration does not always hold true - but in properly-cached DNS addresses, your response, with a local DNS server, could very well be like this:

you <----> Local DNS <----> response/IP.

Its handy to set 116.71.241.198 as primary dns and 116.71.241.214 as secondary and thats all you won't regret this choice!
