Okay - so I'm going to get Witribe disconnected tomorrow.

I guess ISPs in my area are there to drive customers up the walls and make them fly off the roof, and onto the moon!

PTCL - not going to talk about what's "wrong" with it - everyone knows. As for Witribe - atleast it "works" but it doesn't work at the speed subscribed (in my area, atleast).

Don't you just hate internet addiction?!

What's worse - Wateen's signals are weak in my area, and Qubee - when I went to the franchise nearest to my area, two customers came in, disappointed, saying the connection wasn't stable and yada yada yada, and another customer said that a guy came but was uncooperative.

I guess my area is just jinxed. I'm hoping some competition increases cause this is clearly nuts!

LOL! That's because this particular promo was only conceived and launched hastily after the goons at wi-tribe saw this thread and my rant about their overcharging techniques! (I emailed them the link)

Just wanted to post an update: I've finally switched to Qubee as per my previous posts and emailed wi-tribe to close my account and cancel my subscription because of their DISHONEST PRACTICES and SHAMELESS FALSE ADVERTISING. I've purchased Qubee's 8GB plan, 1Mbps for Rs. 850/month only. And here are my speedtest results from Qubee:

300 TIMES better than wi-tribe which only offers less than half of 512kbps and when you call them, they'll tell you "oh that's because it's a SHARED connection. " Oh yeah??? so why don't you bother putting that up on your website you good for nothing, dishonest creeps!

Here's the testimonial I included in my email to wi-tribe's support:

"My testimonial based on 2 years of experience with wi-tribe: Lousy, pathetic and worthless service from a gang of thieves who shamelessly and falsely advertise 512kbps on their website but provide less than half of that and then overcharge unsuspecting customers for STUPID reasons and then shamelessly justify those STUPID reasons."



And I gave them permission to post this testimonial on their website. LOL!

Great. 0.01 Mb/s upload speed on 1 Mbps connection and you consider it 300 times better than Wi-Tribe. Even Lame EVO provides 0.9 Mbps upload speed on it's Rev. A.

Witribe isn't that bad - yes, it's a shared connection (like all other connections) but their network is bogged down by users.

I noticed your upload speed on Qubee is ridiculously low... try another speed test and see if it improves.

Oh - and could you post a traceroute to 8.8.8.8 (Google's DNS server) with Qubee?

My trial period didn't go too well - and their reps... long story short, weren't very helpful. I don't blame them; the company policies are rather dogmatic.
