my pc specs are as follows

core i7 2600k
p8p67 mobo
evga 560ti
4gb corsair vengeance ram
750W CM gx
27" led fujitsu
4 hdds
asus xonar essence st soundcard
a dvd rw drive
haf 922
an external fiio e9 headphone amp
a wireless modem router

i need a ups with a 2 hours backup time atleast... i have been looking at USED apc with external batteries... is that a sound idea?? heard that a modified sinewave does not hurt your pc... i am in lahore... so i need to know where should i go for ups in lahore?? i have about 3 weeks to decide... i emailed systek and they made a formula of about 60k which i think is bull.... i am very much interested in USED apc ones as they are not too expensive as brand new ones... i need something with 5ms relay time so my pc does not restart... and i don't really wanna go above 40k... i could though but i might have to wait a month more for more money.... can someone who uses and knows about ups bring up a good formula for me?? i have heard that apc has small chargers so it would take a lot more time for external batteries to charge with them so one might have to install an additional external charger or something... i am a ups noob so would need some proper knowledge(which involves knowing where to search in lahore)...

i could simply buy a new apc 1500va(around 40-45k i think) which would atleast give me time to shut down... and add batteries later after a month when i have more money... i am tired of loadshedding and it is a fact that it would never end in this country so i better protect my pc... and also do i need external voltage regulators/stabilizers with ups?? i have heard that many people use 2 stabilizes with their ups... one from main to ups and then one after the ups to pc... help would be highly appreciated...

Your pc is a monster, then why do want to save all that money in UPS or buying a used UPS? No doubt APC is best but buying a used would be a risk.... You should wait for one more month and buy a good one. You can visit your nearest Metro store and there you can find Aurora Pure sine wave specially made for computers with external batteries. Or you can rely on homeage ups with 2 batteries. My 3 PC's won't restart on that UPS too.

Okay, but tell me how did you spend last 5 years of load shedding? Inverter type UPS requires external batteries and you can connect appropriate size battery according to your backup needs. There are two types of UPS, pure sine wave and modified sine wave type. Modified sine wave UPS are much cheaper as compared to pure sine wave UPS. But pure sine Wave UPS is a safer choice if you have to run expensive electronics. Modified sine wave inverters are commonly available in markets. There are many brands like HOMAGE, CyberPower, Mercury etc.
If you want to go for modified sine wave UPS, you can follow my track. I am using CyberPower inverter and it's good. It's easily available in markets. These are equivalent to APC in reliability and functionality. Take a look at these threads for some knowledge about UPS' and UPS system:
Using a pure sinewave UPS?
UPS battery etc

CyberPower's official wbsite link for a model: CyberPower

Also search this forum, you shall find informative and very useful stuff regarding batteries, UPS and generators.

i d suggest a USED APC 1500VA with about 2x120amps batteires for atleast 2 hours of backup...

i got one for around 15k about a year ago and its running like a boss , no probs whatsoever , it has built in voltage stabilizer and surge protector....

Aurora Pure Sine Wave UPS 'PG-AR50' 1KVA (600 watts) is available at Metro Cash And Carry for Rs 11,000. It's inverter type actually and battery of desired capacity can be connected with it.

What is price range and how to contact him? And all these are imported (like branded pc's or branded ups) or locally used 2nd hand and which one is better, branded or local used?

i told you the 1500vA cost me 15000 + 1000 shipping

you can contact him via pg FORUM.. idk what rate is going on now...

these are imported branded UPS...

well in matter of APC anything will work , imported branded or Local Used... as they are excellent in any form ,
but i d still prefer imported branded as they are used in Offices abroad where there is rarely any power outages so they have not suffered much in their life time.. :)
