AoA,
I've this Aurora 800VA 500WATT UPS. I connected it to a larger battery and the transistors blew. Please guide me what transistors should I use now ? It has these IRF3203 transistors, can I use D1047 transistors ?

Regards.

IRF3203 is a MOSFET while D1047 is a BJT, so you can't use it.

If you can't find IRF3203, go for IRF3205 or any other suitable MOSFET with similar parameters and package.

Asrar,

The size of the battery has nothing to do with the transistors failing. Please beware lest it happen again.

The stupid transistors kept blowing up, lol i've given up on that circuit. I bought a desi UPS, its quite sturdy and efficient in my POV. Charging battery at 14-15A, I retrieved a 3 years old junk battery from my storeroom, with 70 Rs. acid refill, its working fine haha will buy a new 165A AGS soon.
