If I understood correctly what you mean then...

Does it matters? If wapda is being privatized then it means it was and still is a govt entity (utill its privatized for I don't wanna waste my f*ck if does or doesn't).
If recent random outages are due to this protest then whats the role of govt here to prevent that? but we all know the answer to that...
So we are again left with the root cause of problem, the democracy and politics loving and voting blindly SCUM of this land....

If not then my apologies....

No I wasn't referring to the big picture but the recent events. I was just speculating on reasons for current loadshedding madness. Just a few days back there was no loadshedding and now there are insane outages. What changed in few days? There's nothing in the news about it despite 3-4 days of this madness.

It could be but I don't think wapda runs everything electricity in PK right? and its happening all over PK.
Nobody is talking about it like everything is okay.... its like final stage of 'acceptance' or something like that. I don't know about you and others but I am seeing very significant reduction in my electricity bill (almost half) for the same usage. I can't think of any reason other then its just the opposite of how things usually happen here 'pay more to get less' and if this reduction in bill is true for the rest as well then it explains the lack of 'revenue' to buy fossil fuel to produce electricity as the current revenue is only for them to eat and tell 'oh we have reduced the electricity prices' if asked. My best guess is that its the last year of this govt and we will see lots more horrifying stuff as their reign ends.
These PPP and followers mofos are the real plague.... I am out of words.

embrace imran khan!

"Aankhon dekhi makkhi koi bewaqoof hi nigley ga''. I won't.

Does it have anything to do with recent WAPDA privitization protests? http://www.pakworker...rivatization-2/

If it has then what about load shedding of last 4.5 years? Was it also the result of any protest, or ''badniyati'', or part of ''New World Order'' program to destroy Pakistan?

I think, you didn't read the news paper or heard news last month. WAPDA said, ''Since, we have taken money for Fuel Price Adjustment from people, we are gonna return it in next month's bill''. So, you were the lucky one who received refund but all aren't.

Perhaps its some sort of 'mistake' on their part on my bill...

Turns out my speculation was wrong. Our lame media took like 5 days to notice that there's massive loadshedding going on in the nation. What's wrong with our media? Seriously, why the hell are they so slow to notice? PSO had blocked fuel supplies to PEPCO due to non-payment. It's very annoying to not know what's going on. Our media only covers when people take to the streets.

Anyways, it appears the problem will be solved for a few months with the 6billion injection:

They do not have time because they are covering India and Indian programmes. In Pakistan, they cover politicians, fighting politicians, and anti Pakistan rants.

Media is there to make money. We should not expect anything from them.
Oh yes, about Baluchistan. How come Zaid Hamid, the only intellectual in Pakistan, hardly talks about Baluchistan? Either hes cunning or ignorant or worth the salt he gets from angels.

Power tariff raised by 30 to 72pc for Wapda companies

The power tariff has been increased by 30 to 72 per cent for different categories of consumers and different regions with effect from March 1.

...
The increase to come into force with immediate effect passes on to consumers the impact of expensive rental power plants, inefficient plant utilisation and adverse energy mix during August last year.

The tariff hike will not apply to consumers using less than 50 units a month and to consumers of the Karachi Electric Supply Company.
...
In practical terms, the monthly bills of all consumers will be much higher given the impact of 16 per cent general sales tax that goes up with the amount of average bills.
...
Nepra member from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shaukat Ali Kundi, who wrote a dissenting note, said the merit order of power plants had not been adhered to, resulting in higher utilisation of inefficient and expensive plants and low capacity utilisation of efficient plants.
...
“Passing on inefficiencies of Gencos and NTDC to the consumers is in no way justified,” he said.
...

Cmon people. What else do you expect while living in a beggar country?
No one is staging protests. Are we waiting for summers? Maybe then some poor people will come out in a desperate attempt to vent out anger.

If load shedding hit like the previous year then the only solution that I can think of is to somehow install wind and/or solar generation at my home to have enough power to light up few LEDs and maybe charge cellphones and laptops. Probably, I'll go for the Zeer's pot (Pot-in-pot refrigerator) to cool down the vegetables and other stuff without the need of electric refrigerator. We have to think like we are in Africa and at a war. That's why I am also planning to grow some vegetables in pots on roof (it will also keep the roof cool). Now the only problem is water. I am also planning to conserve the usage of water in this summer.

Why all these things but not using UPS? Because electricity's price is already way up and it will go more up and UPS waste a lot of electricity in heat. Generators' electricity is pretty expensive too. So we have to cut down the electricity expenditure.

To cool down the home, I am planning to put shades on all walls facing the sun. Somehow cool down roof enough to not let it become too hot. I am also studying baoli (a.k.a. bawdi), that's how Mughals used to cool down their homes before the invention of electricity. Have to go primitive on all these things. That's the only solution.

But currently all these things are on research or drawing board level. But for the upcoming imminent failure of government, "f*** you government for failing to deliver the basic need of electricity. You had 5 years and you couldn't find a solution for it."
